What is Main Street?
Collinsville Downtown, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization designed to help our community search for effective and affordable solutions to historic preservation and economic revitalization of the central business district.
How long does Main Street last?
The Main Street program is an ongoing program developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to encourage economic development within the context of historic preservation. The program was designed as a long-term revitalization project to serve the needs of the community.
Collinsville's Main Street Program, started in 2000 and is part of the Oklahoma Main Street Program through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Oklahoma's Main Street Program helps return vitality to the heart of communities across the state while preserving our history and culture.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and we rely on community driven volunteers to be on the Board of Directors, other volunteers that prefer to volunteer for individual projects or events and our wonderful sponsors for without whom, we would not be able to put on the events that fund the grants that are utilized to get the projects around town done.
Who funds Main Street?
Collinsville Main Street receives no federal or state money. All funding is provided locally by property owners, retailers, industry, financial institutions and the City of Collinsville. Each making significant contributions. In addition to donations, we hold annual events as fundraisers throughout the year.
